After a lengthy discussion at their June 8 regular meeting, Boone County Commissioners voted 2-1 against allowing a system for county offices to use compensatory time on a limited basis.
Commissioner Hilary Maricle had proposed a temporary compensatory time system that could be used by the Extension office during the county fair period, and by other departments as needed during busy times.
Commissioners Ken Luettel and Jerry Tisthammer opposed the proposal. Both said they felt compensatory time, allowed under the county’s former payroll system, had been abused.
