Village board decides on Internet upgrades

Petersburg Village Board looked at Internet quotes and determined improvements are needed during their monthly meeting last Tuesday, July 7, 2015.
The board would like to have Internet for the village shop. The service for the fire hall presently is relayed from the clerk’s computer.
Trustee Henn explained that the fire department and rescue unit are having problems. It takes too much time for them to get a message when a call comes in. Sometimes, it is an additional 10-20 minutes or longer. Most responders do not use their pagers, because anyone a mile out of town has no signal and there is a lot of static. The pagers are also very old, so the calls go to their cell phones.
