First Shane Thome Memorial Races a success

Tyler Iverson (98)

A large, enthusiastic crowd enjoyed plenty of hot track action during the first Shane Thome Memorial race program, held Tuesday, July 14, in conjunction with the annual Boone County Fair.
There was a crowded field of racers, as well, with more than 100 cars and drivers flocking to the event held in memory of the Spalding native, who was an avid Modified competitor at the BCR before losing his life in an automobile accident.

The card included heat and feature racing in six classes of competition and, in the end, it was the familiar face of Albion’s Tyler Iverson in the winner’s circle as the champion of the Shane Thome Memorial Modified feature.

Following are the winners in each class feature:

IMCA Modifieds: 1- Tyler Iverson (98)

IMCA Sport Compacts: 1- Ramsey Meyer (21R)

IMCA Hobby Stock: 1- Austin Brauner (10A)

IMCA Stock Car: 1- Shawn Primrose (1)

IMCA Sport Modifieds: 1- Chad Dolan (87D)

Limited Late Models: 1- Tad Pospisil (04)
