Boone County Philanthropy Council’s Big Give is scheduled for December of 2015. Petersburg Community Club participated in 2014 and was very successful in raising funds for the downtown park shelter. The club also received matching funds from the Boone County Philanthropy Council.
At the last meeting, the club voted to participate again. Ideas were discussed for a proposed project. These ideas included:
Purchase of a portable stage/sound system for community events; Portable bleachers; Swimming pool/hot tub; Refurbishing golf greens; and Picnic tables.
The club will discuss these and other proposed ideas at its next meeting on Monday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. at the Petersburg Legion Club. A final decision will be submitted to the council.
