Good progress has been made on the Petersburg downtown park project fund.
An anonymous donation of $1,500 was received for the park project in July.
More than $38,000 has been donated toward the park improvements, with about $36,000 still needed to reach the $75,000 goal.
The large steel park shelter has been in place since spring and has been used for several large gatherings. Playground facilities have been installed in the southwest corner. These will be used again this Saturday, Aug. 8, during the seventh annual Bash in the Burg.
