A storm packing heavy rain, hail and strong wind caused crop damage to the north, south and west of Albion last Friday afternoon, July 31.
The storm hit Albion about 2:30 p.m. and lasted less than an hour.
Early estimates on Monday placed the hail and wind damage path at two to three miles wide and up to 10-12 miles long, stretching from west of Loretto, through Albion and southeast to near the Boone Road. Some hail damage was also reported east of Cedar Rapids.
