Rae Valley Days set for Aug. 28-30

Walt Klein of Petersburg and Dave Miller of Oakdale recently cut and bundled oats for the threshing demonstration at Rae Valley DaysRae Valley Heritage Association is making preparations for its 33rd annual Nebraska State Antique Tractor and Horse Plowing Bee to be held Aug. 29 and 30, 2015 at Charlie’s Park northwest of Petersburg. There is free admission and everyone is welcome.
A tractor cade starts from Creston on Friday morning and will arrive at the grounds northwest of Petersburg by about 5 p.m. Area antique tractor enthusiasts are invited to join the tractor cade at lunchtime in Newman Grove, or later in the afternoon on Highway 32 east of Petersburg.
Saturday begins with a consignment auction at 9 a.m. on the north portion of the grounds. Working events start at 11 a.m., followed by tractor games and the good old time antique tractor pull at 12 noon.
Sunday’s schedule starts with a worship service at 10 a.m. in the barn loft. Tractor games and working events start at 11 a.m. Walking plow and horse and mule plowing will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by antique tractor plowing at 1 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. the parade of power will be featured, followed by trophy presentations and the raffle drawing.
