Property taxpayers will get some relief for the second consecutive year under the proposed 2015-16 Boone County budget.
A total property tax reduction of $162,227 or 4.72 percent is included in the new Boone County budget, according to the budget document published last week.
There will also be a big reduction in the county’s tax rate after a 15.1 percent increase in countywide property valuations this year.
