Boone Central senior Kyley Sorell put an exclamation point on her 2015 fall golf season with a runner-up finish in the C-2 District tournament at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus Monday, qualifying for the Nebraska Girls State Championships Oct. 12-13 at North Platte.
Sorell carded an 18-hole score of 95 on the Quail Run layout, finishing three strokes behind district champion Emerson Belitz of Scotus and four in front of another Shamrock golfer, Megan Parker.
Scotus won the team title with a 411 total. Fulleron (416) and Shelby-Rising City (464) also qualified teams for the state championships. Boone Central (467) just missed state team qualification, placing fourth.
