Boone Central/Newman Grove (13-10) hosted Fullerton in Newman Grove for volleyball competition Tuesday, Oct. 13, and defeated the Warriors 3-0. Hartington Cedar Catholic traveled to Albion Thursday night, however, and dampened Parents Night with a 3-0 sweep of the Cardinals.
“We had two different matches this week,” commented Boone Central/Newman Grove Coach Susan Roberts. “We executed really well vs. Fullerton in all aspects of the game. We served aggressively, pulled Fullerton out of system, and were able to run our offense effectively all night.
“Thursday, however, we struggled to execute, especially in serving and transition. We missed several serves at key moments and struggled to keep transitioning throughout long rallies.”
