Albion Senior Center, which celebrated its 35th anniversary on Sept. 26, is in danger of closing due to low participation.
The center has had an average participation of only eight to 10 people a day in recent weeks, and that impacts the reimbursements the center receives, based on the Older Americans Act, according to center manager Gina Friese.
Participation has fallen from a level of 20 to 30 people per day a year and a half ago.
Cutbacks are being made, but the solution is to attract larger participation from senior citizens in the Albion community.
