Boone Central senior Ashlynn Baker was rewarded for outstanding performance in her only high school cross country season with Class C Cross Country All-State honors.
The Nebraska cross country all-state selections are presented by the Nebraska Coaches Association and presenting partner WeBacks Apparel. All-State selections are based upon athletes’ performances at the Nebraska School Activities Association State Championships at the Kearney Country Club.
Baker was one of six runners honored as girls’ Class C All-State, along with Zoe Ritz of Ord, Sophia Conant of Adams Central, Ogallala’s Lucia McKeag, Kiya Passero of Chadron and Celeste Cardona of Mitchell.
“I was really glad Ashlynn was named to the All-State team. It’s such a deserving honor for such a great gal!” said Boone Central/Newman Grove Coach Tom Dickey. “It’s hard to imagine a good enough athlete, with enough confidence, to come into a sport as a senior and make such a huge impact!”
