A progress report on design of the upcoming school construction and renovation project was one of several major discussion topics at a three-hour Boone Central School Board meeting Monday night, Dec. 14, in Petersburg.
Jim Berg of BVH Architects, Lincoln, said his firm is now working to wrap up the general building design and move into the details, such as early cost estimates of materials and equipment. He showed preliminary drawings of both the new construction and renovation portions.
The current design includes all major components, but Berg said there may be a need to “tighten up” the project, perhaps reducing the sizes of some corridors and other spaces to meet the budget.
