Commissioners hear plan for rail siding

Boone County Commissioners learned of a possible plan for expansion of rail siding at Valero Renewables, Albion, during their meeting Monday, Dec. 21.
Andy Roberts, Valero plant manager, said cost increases for keeping empty cars on trackage have made it necessary to consider additional siding at the plant. If the project is approved, the siding could contain enough cars for two complete unit trains.
The siding expansion would involve closing of 265th Street southeast of the plant.
