F. Jeanette Forre Mortensen, 99, of Newman Grove, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at Boone County Health Center in Albion. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Shell Creek Lutheran Church in Newman Grove with Pastor Becky Beckmann officiating. Burial will be in Shell Creek Lutheran Cemetery. After a short battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a type of bone marrow disease), Derald L. Dunagan passed away on Dec. 11, 2015, at Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, CO, at the age of 81.

Leah L. Petsche

Leah Lavonne Petsche, 81, formerly of Petersburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society – Albion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg with Rev. Stan Schmit officiating. Interment will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Raeville. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with a 7 p.m. wake service.
