City sales tax measure will go to voters

Albion voters will decide the fate of a new city sales and use tax proposal at the May 10 primary election.
At its Feb. 9 meeting, the city council approved a resolution to place the question of continuing the one-half cent tax measure before voters on the primary ballot.
The measure had been discussed and tabled at the council’s January meeting because one board member was absent due to illness, and the council wanted to have the full board present to act. No changes were made in the proposal that was reviewed in January.
