A fire on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 14, destroyed the Dennis Scholl home 8 3/4 miles east and one mile north of Petersburg.
This was the second rural Petersburg home to be claimed by fire in the past month.
Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene at 2:30 p.m., but the structure was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. The house and contents were a total loss.
