Cardinal Coach Dennis Walters will count on three returning letterwinners to pace the Boone Central/Newman Grove boys golf team in 2016.
Seniors Blake Olnes and Joel Meyer and junior Nathan Gottier will form the core of the Card squad and Walters feels sophomores Garrett Cornwell and Bryton Fowlkes could help provide immediate support.
“Our strength will be the three letterwinners and two other players with solid golf experience,” Walters noted. “However, we will be very inexperienced after we get by our top three.”
Others competing in boys golf this spring are sophomores Walker Stuhr and Mack Nelson and freshmen Michael Brengelman, Hunter Meyer, Garret Niewohner, Tyson Haddix, Curtis Kratochvil, Bradon Anderson and Kade Noble.
