A kickoff meeting for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program in Boone County will be held next Tuesday, May 24, at 6 p.m. in the Albion Fire Station.
Region 44 Emergency Manager Tom Smith will conduct the meeting to explain more about the CERT program, which teaches all participants basic safety skills to help keep themselves, their families and their neighborhoods safe in the event of an emergency, and how to help following a disaster.
“I urge any area resident to attend if they are interested in emergency preparedness and assisting the community,” said Smith.
