Recount affirms Fick as winner

An official recount of ballots conducted Wednesday, May 18, affirmed that Tom Fick was the winner of a close Republican race for District 2 Commissioner in the May 10 primary election.
Fick received 121 votes, while Steve Rasmussen had 119, Trevor VanDeWalle received 101 and Richie Beister received 119.
The recount at the County Clerk’s office showed no change in the vote totals for any of the four candidates.
Fick will advance unopposed to the general election, since no Democrats filed for the office.
