The news on health insurance cost wasn’t quite as good this year for the Boone County Commissioners.
At a meeting last Wednesday, May 25, the commissioners learned the county’s employee Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance premiums will increase six percent for 2016-17.
The news was much better last year, when health insurance rates declined by three percent.
The health insurance rate increase is effective July 1, 2016.
Commissioners also discussed the ownership and operations plan of the Boone County Fitness Center, and a variety of other topics at their May 25 session.
