Donald John Merten, 85, of Albion, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Don is survived by his wife Donna of Albion; five children: Cindy (Victor) Carlson, Jeff “Hop” Merten (fiancé Joni Haase), Judy Merten (significant other George Majerus), Terry (Michelle) Merten, Randy (Lori) Merten, all of Albion; 15 grandchildren: B. J. (Amy) Loeffler, Brea (John) Kelley, Doug (Lori) Borer, Chris (Brooke) Borer, Heidi (Jim) Darby, Amy (Morgan) Graham, Dillon Olson, Dakota Olson, Taylor (Jake) Johnston, Ty Merten, Travis Merten, Kaylee Merten, Keri (Ryan) Hagemann, Kelly Merten and Jonathan Merten; 25 great grandchildren: Danielle, Montana, Cheyanne, Maverick, Kaleb, Bryce, Emilie, Chelsea, Lauren, Reese, Rya, Ty, Parker, Sienna, Benjamin, Madison, Clay, McKenna, Jaiden, Jakob, Javelynn, Jaxon, Jaylen, Jayley and Baby Hagemann; two sisters: Dorothy (Bud) Anderson and Virginia (Joe) Potter, both of Omaha; along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
