Petersburg Legion and Auxiliary members march to the cemeteries on Memorial Day.A nice crowd was present for the annual Memorial Day program hosted by American Legion Post 334 and Auxiliary. Post Commander Hank Thieman welcomed those present by thanking them for taking time to be present for this important occasion and was followed by advancement of colors and the National Anthem sung by Scott and Stephanie Wright and the invocation by Don Friese.
Thieman recognized Post member Lavern Nissen as the only member of Post 334 who served in WWII.
Thieman then introduced the Girls and Boys State Representatives. Ashlynn Baker, Scott Ketteler and Seth Schumacher.
Tom Briese was the guest speaker for Memorial Day services at both Petersburg and Albion.
