Even with the recent suffocating heat wave, the 2016 Louie Hoppe Memorial ‘Totally Awesome 80s’ 5K Run & Walk had nearly 100 participants Saturday morning in Albion.
Ninety-two runners and walkers began the event at Fuller Park, traversing routes of various lengths and finishing again at the park, where they could enjoy refreshments and ample shade.
Andrew Rasmussen of Albion was the overall winner of the 5K run, finishing in a time of 22:41. Roberta Jacobson was the top overall female in a time of 26:17.
