‘Bash in the Burg’ is coming up soon

Bash in the BurgPetersburg Community Club’s Eighth Annual “Bash in the Burg” is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 6.
Grillers will begin cooking at 8 a.m. Sampling/People’s Choice begins at 6 p.m. until the food is gone. Atwood’s sweet corn will also be served.
There will also be a wine/beer/other concoction and homemade bread competition.
All contests have an Aug. 1 registration deadline. Sign up forms are available at Rae Valley Market.
Gates open at 1 p.m. at downtown Petersburg for the event.
A bounce house will open at 3 p.m. for kids on Main Street.
Alan Temme will be providing musical entertainment all afternoon. A band from Omaha, “Lemon Fresh Day,” will start playing at 9 p.m. on Main Street. The dance will end at 1 a.m.
New this year will be the Bashin’ in the Burg Boxing event. Calcutta for boxers will start at 1:30 p.m. and the exhibition will be from 2-6 p.m.
The Seven Cities Bike tour riders will be attending the Burg activities. They will be arriving on Friday evening and the community club will be serving them breakfast on Saturday morning at the Petersburg Legion Club.
The Petersburg Community Club has always promoted this event as a “Fun Day” for the entire family.
