Boone Central Public School has been selected to receive a $25,000.00 grant for its new advanced welding program through America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund.
Boone Central welding program will offer students the opportunity to receive college credit for welding courses through Central Community College Columbus.
The school is upgrading its welding area with 10 new welding systems along with new welding bays. An accredited instructor, Gary Hoefer, will be teaching courses in several different welding areas so students can gain college credit. With these credits, students will have the option of continuing at CCC or directly enter the workforce.
America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, offered since 2011, allows farmers to partner with and support their local school districts.
