Championship Night set at Boone County Raceway

The Boone County Raceway in Albion will present its 2016 Albion Fire and Rescue Department Championship Night Friday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m.
Season champions will be crowned in all five classes of competition during the season finale, which will benefit the Albion Fire and Rescue Department, in appreciation of its service at the fairgrounds track throughout the summer racing season. Twenty-five percent of all grandstand admissions Friday will be donated to the fire department.
The BCR will also be holding a barbecue following Friday’s racing. Free will offering will be accepted, with all proceeds donated to the fire departments in surrounding communities.
The evening will begin with a Cornhole Tournament under the grandstand (6 p.m.). The tournament will be limited to the first 16 two-person teams and will award a $100 first place prize.
Going into the final night of local racing action, season point leaders at the Boone County Raceway are Jim Johnson (Late Model), Kyle Prauner (Sport Mods), Doug Adamy (Stock Cars), Jason Wilkinson (Hobby Stocks) and Shannon Pospisil (Sport Compacts).
