Boone County will have a special observance for Patriot Day on Sunday, Sept. 11, in Albion. The event is planned by Sons of the American Legion Squadron 162.
The celebration will include a movie, “MAX,” at 3 p.m. in the Gateway Theatre. There will be free will admission.
At 5 p.m., the Remembrance Walk and program will be held on the courthouse lawn, sponsored by American Legion Post 162, with guest speaker Shannon Falk and invocation by Denny Reis.
Shannon Falk is a U.S. Army veteran and recent State Liaison Officer with the Nebraska American Legion Riders.
A dinner of pork sandwiches will be served at the downtown mini-park immediately after the walk and program, and free will donations will be taken.
A strong presence is expected from both the Nebraska Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders.
All Boone County residents, visitors, and those from neighboring counties are invited to attend the day’s activities.
