S. Marie Helene Werdel OSB, 92, died on Sept. 12, 2016.
S. Marie Helene is survived by her Benedictine community, her sisters Theresa Summerton, Annabelle Clausen, and Leona Yanta, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A wake service was held Thursday, Sept. 15, and the Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, Sept. 16, both in Bishop Marty Memorial Chapel in Yankton, SD. Burial was in the monastery cemetery.
