BC/NG volleyers net one win

The road was not especially kind to the Boone Central/Newman Grove volleyball team this past week, as the Cardinals notched just one victory in four matches.
BC/NG began the week at Nebraska Christian, where the Eagles rallied back from a first set loss to prevail 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 25-15).
“The varsity played a hard-fought game. I thought we had good energy and hustle the whole game,” said Cardinal Coach Susan Roberts.
Card senior Jenna Kramer was a force at the net with 12 kills and 3 solo blocks. Nicole Woebbecke and Karley Zoucha each added 6 kills.
Boone Central/Newman Grove traveled to Hastings Saturday for the Adams Central Invite, bringing home one victory in three attempts.
Centura defeated BC/NG 25-18, 24-26, 25-20 in a competitive, seesaw match.
Kramer hammered 19 kills for the Cardinals, as Thompson racked up 32 set assists. Woebbecke added 9 kills and Zoucha 7.
Boone Central/Newman Grove bounced back to sweep Centennial 25-14, 25-13.
Kramer paced a balanced attack with 5 kills, with support from Woebbecke (4), Lauren Hedlund (4), and Carsen Grape (3).
The Cardinals concluded the tournament with another hard-fought match against Sandy Creek, but came out on the short end of a 19-25, 25-22, 21-25 score.
Thompson had 12 assists, while Kramer and Woebbecke each had 6 of BC/NG’s 14 kills.
