Boone County 4-H team third in national contest

Boone County’s 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl team earned third place in the National 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl held Satuday, Sept. 24, at Omaha.
Local team members in the competition, held in conjunction with the AKSARBEN River City Rodeo & 4-H Stock Show, were Brody Voichoski, Dalton Wagner, Payton Beierman, and Fina Choat.
The Boone County members represented Nebraska in a field of eight teams, according to Steve Pritchard, Extension educator in Boone and Nance counties.
Other teams came from the states of Tennessee, Alabama, Wisconsin, Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma and Minnesota.
The Boone County team finished with a 3-2 record, with both losses to the reserve champion team from Kansas.
The team from Oklahoma captured the championship with a perfect 4-0 record.
