A pre-application conference for a proposed new subdivision was one of the agenda items for the Albion Planning Commission during its monthly meeting Monday night, Oct. 10.
Dana and Karen Andersen met with the board to discuss plans for the planned subdivision, located south of the Albion Family Aquatic Center and west of South Eighth Street.
Preliminary design shows 10 lots to be developed for single family housing, with an east-west street running down the center of a subdivision. As now planned, eight of the lots would be over 13,000 square feet, and two would be slightly over 14,000 square feet.
The plan could include a connecting street into the fairgrounds property on the west. However, Andersen said he has not yet gone to the county board to seek an easement.
Larry Bird asked if the property would be annexed into the city. Both Andersen and City Administrator Andy Devine replied that was the intent.
The plat is not yet final, and no action was taken by the planning board.
