Boone County will have a new assistant highway superintendent starting this Thursday, Dec. 1.
Stacey Robinson, 43, of Fullerton was appointed to this position by the Boone County Commissioners at their Nov. 28 meeting.
Robinson currently holds a Class B Highway Superintendent’s license. Commissioners said the plan is to have her work with the current Highway Superintendent, Darrel Thorin, and take over the position after Thorin retires in January, 2017.
Robinson joined the Nance County Road Department in November of 2012, and earned her Class B Highway Superintendent’s license in April, 2016. She has been assistant highway superintendent in Nance County since then. She was one of two candidates interviewed by the board on Nov. 21. She is working toward her Class A certification, which she hopes to receive in 2018.
Thorin has announced his plans to retire at the end of 2016.
