VFW Auxiliary ships out packages to troops

Auxiliary to Boone County VFW Post 736 sent its annual packages to overseas military personnel from the area last Wednesday, Nov. 23.
A total of 13 packages containing donated items were sent.
Taking part in the mailing process (above photo) were, l.-r., Marion Kunzman, Rachel Bittner of Cargill, Postmaster Tracy Stamp, Eileen Wieser and Patricia Beierman. Jerky and meat products were donated by Albion Locker, and candy was donated by Dr. Rich Heidemann.
Postage was paid by Cargill, a donation was also received from the Cornhusker PPD Goodwill Fund, and elementary students from Boone Central made greeting cards. Jack Kunzman also helped with the project. The auxiliary has been sending these packages for at least 10 years.
