Mathilde “Tillie” VanMeter, 81, of St. Edward, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Boone County Health Center, Albion.
Tillie is survived by her children: Ralph (Sabine) of Badsoden, Germany; Joe of St. Edward; Dennis (Kim) of Primrose; Tammy (Gary) Iburg of Belgrade; and Mike of Omaha; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Rolland (Angee) VanMeter and children Owen and Coy; Risa VanMeter and son Johnathan Hodyc; Joey (Krystal) Donnelly and children Jocelyn and Jacob; Jessica (Trevor) McKown and daughter Janey; Jeanie (Trey) Frauendorfer; Derek, Kara, and Dillon VanMeter; Megan (Tony) Bohnet; Justin and Tonya Iburg; sister Glenda Brohl of Wintrich, Germany; brother-in-law Walter Jakobi of Reil, Germany; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ronald; brother Joseph (Rosa) Lenerz; two sisters: Margaret (Jacob) Toelkes, and Alfreda Jakobi; and brother-in-law Frans Joseph Brohl.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, April 23, 2018 at the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward with Msgr. Ralph Steffensmeier and Deacon Harlan Long officiating. Burial followed at the Evergreen Cemetery, St. Edward
