The Boone Central/Newman Grove Cardinals placed fifth in Friday’s previously-postponed Boone Central Invitational golf tournament at the Albion Country Club.
Mid-State Conference rival Battle Creek was the team champion of the event with a 325 stroke total. Lakeview (353) was runner-up and Wayne (369) placed third. Boone Central/Newman Grove posted a 387 score.
Senior Garrett Cornwell paced the Cardinals with an 18-hole total of 93. Bradon Anderson and Bryton Fowlkes carded scores of 97. All three Cardinals shot at least three strokes better on the second nine holes.
