The Boone Central/Newman Grove golf team gained good experience competing in a loaded field at the Wayne MAC Invite Thursday, May 3.
Boone Central/Newman Grove placed 12th in the competition with a team total of 392. West Holt (333) won the tournament championship ahead of Oakland-Craig (348) and Scotus (348).
Mason Hale of West Holt carded an 18-hole score of 73 to take the individual gold medal. Bryce VunCannon (75) of Scotus was runner-up.
Bradon Anderson of Boone Central/Newman Grove was among the tourney’s Top 20 individuals, placing 17th with a score of 88.
Rounding out scoring for the Cardinals were Garrett Cornwell (90), Wade Hendrickson (105), Mack Nelson (109) and Bryton Fowlkes (113).
