NAEA names Hitchler ‘Outstanding Teacher’

Abby Hitchler, Agricultural Education Instructor at Boone Central, was awarded the Outstanding Teacher by the Nebraska Agricultural Educators Association (NAEA) at the NAEA Banquet held in Kearney on June 6 at the Nebraska Career Education Conference. Award winners are nominated and selected by their peers.
The Outstanding Teacher Award recognizes NAEA members who conduct the highest quality agricultural education programs in the state. The award recognizes leadership in civic, community, agriculture/ agribusiness and professional activities. Outstanding agricultural educators are innovators and catalysts for student success in agricultural education.
She is an exceptional educator/teacher that believes part of her job is to provide every student she teaches with knowledge he or she can use in their future no matter of the chosen profession or path. Abby utilizes multiple hands on methods to teach her students, including: field trips to local feedlots, developing landscape plans for the newly renovated school campus, and most recently the construction of a greenhouse.
NAEA is a professional organization consisting of 200 agricultural education instructors from across the state with membership also in National Association of Agricultural Educators.
