Dan and Jeri Willis of Aurora have announced they will be closing their Heartland Jewelry store in Albion at the end of August.
“We appreciate the loyal patronage of many people in the Albion area, but we have decided to close the store here to develop some other business interests,” said Jeri.
The Willis’s have operated the store here for 11 years. Boone County Development Agency recruited the Heartland Jewelry store in Albion in 2007. The business began operating as a mobile unit that visited Albion only on Wednesdays.
By October of 2007, the business moved into a small storefront on Church Street across from the Albion Post Office and operated there until 2013. They then moved to their current location at 354 West Church Street.
“We have enjoyed working with each of you on preserving your fine jewelry and creating new symbols of love, relationships, and milestones,” said the Willis’s.
A store closing sale is planned for August. In addition to merchandise, store fixtures and display cases will also be sold.
Because of limited staffing, Heartland Jewelry will only be operating the sale on Wednesdays through Fridays, Aug. 8-10, Aug. 15-17, and Aug. 22-24.
