A Beef Quality Assurance training seminar will be held in Elgin on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018. This seminar will be hosted by Town and Country Veterinary Clinic and Elgin Livestock Sales in conjunction with Boehringer-Ingelheim.
The training will begin with a demonstration/wet lab at Elgin Livestock Sales at 6:30 p.m.
After the demonstration, the lecture portion of the training and dinner will be at the Elgin Knights of Columbus Hall. Dinner will be provided by Boehringer-Ingelheim. There is no cost to the producer for this training seminar. An RSVP is requested by the end of the day on Aug. 20 by calling 402-843-5756.
Many producers may already be aware of the changes coming as early as January 2019. Packing companies are beginning to require producers be BQA certified in order to provide their product to them. BQA brings a level of consumer confidence and assuredness that the end product was raised with best practices and husbandry, resulting in a wholesome and safe food product.
This is an opportunity for producers to become certified.
