Brodersen adds to golf gold

Boone Central sophomore Abby Brodersen added a gold medal and Top 5 finish to her 2018 golf resume in action this past week.
The Cardinal girls made a short trip south Sept. 18 to compete in the Fullerton Invitational, where Brodersen took top medalist honors by eight strokes.
Brodersen shot identical 9-hole scores of 41 to win the gold medal with an 82 total. Makenzie Enderlin (90) and Hannah Allen (91) of Scotus finished second and third.
Boone Central finished fourth in the eight-team field with a 489 team score. Scotus (390) won the tournament, followed by host Fullerton (44) and Shelby/Rising City (453). Boone Central’s Lauren Kohtz shot a 119, Ava Frey finished at 128 and Lilly Reel posted a 160.
Boone Central continued its season at the tough Wayne Invite Thursday, with just three players competing.
Brodersen placed third individually with an 18-hole score of 87. After shooting 46 on her front nine, she came back to post 41 on her finishing nine holes. Frey shot a 128 total and Kohtz finished with a 136.
