
A combine fire occurred last, Tuesday, Nov. 13, around 5:30 p.m., approximately three miles north of St. Edward on HWY 39 and about two miles west of 320th St.
Kenny Carter, who farms land between Albion and St. Edward, was harvesting a field of corn as his combine suddenly caught fire.
The corn field also eventually caught fire.
The St. Edward Fire Department was called to the scene to extinguish the flames.
The fire occurred in the back of the combine in the engine compartment.
Luckily, there were no injuries reported.
Estimated damage is about $200,000.
Carter lives west of Columbus but was born and raised in the St. Edward area.
