Board talks with consultants on possible feasibility study

At a strategic planning meeting on Monday, Nov. 26, the Boone Central School Board met with two consultants regarding a possible feasibility study dealing with the middle school in Petersburg.
Taking part in the discussion with the board were Dr. Ernie Goss, MacAllister Chair and professor of economics at Creighton University, and Steven Wolf, community engagement director with JEO Consulting Group.
Dr. Goss presented options for the feasibility study, which could include the middle school setting, services, commuting time efficiency, capacity, remodeling needs, personnel retention, safety, relocation and population trends.
Mr. Wolf discussed strategic communication practices and engagement ideas. The scope of his work could include approaches for public engagement, conflict management, strategic planning and communication.
The board took no action, but will consider formal proposals for scope of work and costs from both consultants at its next regular meeting Monday, Dec. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the middle school library at Petersburg.
