An inmate who escaped from a Nebraska Department of Corrections facility was arrested at a St. Edward residence last Thursday afternoon, Nov. 29, according to St. Edward Police Chief Monte Olson.
Kollin Weldon, who escaped in August from the Nebraska Department of Corrections, was taken into custody without incident and is now being held in the Department of Corrections Diagnostic and Evaluation Center, Olson said.
Weldon was serving a sentence for a conviction in Platte County on charges of felony burglary, attempted burglary, theft by unlawful taking and second degree assault. He also faces charges for alleged vehicle thefts in Polk and Platte counties.
Also involved in the arrest were the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and Nebraska State Patrol.
