Edwin “Bud” Frederick Cox, 89, of Columbus, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 at the Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Bud is survived by nephews: Jerome (Janice) Cox of California; James (Sue) Cox of Cedar Rapids; Larry (Jean) Cox of Henderson; Gilbert (Karen) Zaruba of Columbus; David (Nancy) Zaruba of Norfolk; Samuel (Gerri) Zaruba of Wood River; grand nieces and nephews, great grand nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers William and wife Dorothy and Maurice and wife Marjorie, an infant brother; sisters Margaret (Thomas) Zaruba and Betty Cox.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Vern Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Cedar Rapids with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, Dan Cox American Legion Post 44, and American Legion Riders. Visitation will resume Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the church in Cedar Rapids.
