Boone County Foundation Fund is saluting some key business sponsors of the Boone County Big Give this year. Without their help, especially in the first years, the Big Give may never have gotten off the ground.
Two of the Big Give’s top level Gold Sponsors, Cornerstone Bank and Pillen Family Farms, have sponsored at that level through all five years, 2014 through 2018.
Valero Renewables has also been a key sponsor for all five years — one year as a Gold Sponsor and four years as a Silver Sponsor.
“When the Big Give was first proposed, there were doubters and there was a point where we were not sure if we should even try,” said Jay Wolf, a member of the BCFF Advisory Committee. “These people believed when there was nothing but a vague idea to believe in. If they had not, the Big Give might never have taken off.”
Through the past five years, the Boone County Big Give has raised nearly $845,000 and assisted 77 projects.
