Spring field work off to slow start in area

Planting is somewhat behind schedule for some farmers in the Boone County area due to recent flooding and damp spring weather, but they are using all opportunities to get back into the fields.

Above, discing and planting operations were underway last Friday along the eastern edge of Boone County. As of Monday, April 29, statewide planting progress was reported as near slightly behind normal for both corn and soybeans. About 16 percent of the corn crop had been planted across Nebraska.
