Boone Central honors retirees, departing staff

Staff members departing Boone Central Schools as the school year closes are (back, l.-r.) Boone Central Public Schools honored retiring staff members, saluted those moving on to different positions, and recognized years of service during a special program Wednesday afternoon, May 15, in the school commons area.
Retiring teachers honored were Tom Dickey, fifth grade, 41 years; Pam Young, speech pathologist, 36 years, and Mitch Osborn, science teacher, 27 years.
Mr. Osborn plans to retire only briefly before taking a science teaching position next fall at Elkhorn Mount Michael.
Also retiring are middle school custodians Jerry Thieman, 44 years, and Joyce Bottorf, 10 years.
Current teachers and administrators who will be leaving the district for other positions and other pursuits are Justin DeWitt, industrial technology teacher, 14 years; Karlee Haecker, elementary counselor, one year; Callee Haselhorst, middle school Special Education, four years; Gina Imus, second grade, five years; Alexandra Stahlecker, high school English, two years, and Katie Stone, third grade, seven years.
Staff members reaching years-of-service milestones were Kathy Beckman, kitchen supervisor, 20 years; Barbara Foland, elementary teacher, 25 years; Lisa Groth, family/consumer sciences, 10 years; Amber Hamik, elementary Title I, five years; Trina Hellbusch, elementary library-media, 15 years; Connie Henn, middle school art, five years; Abby Hitchler, agricultural education, five years; Andy Imus, physical education, five years; Michele Wright, vocal music, five years; Cassie Olson, high school language arts/history, 10 years; Gay Sandman, administrative secretary, 30 years; Angie Zoucha, elementary secretary, 15 years; Licia Kunzman, aide, 25 years; Michelle Merten, aide, 15 years, and Bonnie Molt, aide, 20 years.
