Planning meeting set Jan. 13 on hosting BRAN riders

Community groups who would like to be involved in hosting an overnight stop of the Bike Ride Across Nebraska (BRAN) in June are asked to attend an upcoming planning meeting.
The planning meeting will be held Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. in the St. Edward Public Library.
This will be the 40th anniversary ride for BRAN, and it is expected to draw some 700 riders from throughout the state and many surrounding states.
Most riders will stay overnight in tents in the city park, but some will also request overnight accommodations in local homes or the school gym.
Riders will be coming into town from Ord on Thursday, June 11, and will cover 64 miles that day.
The community will be asked to provide lunch and supper that Thursday, as well as some type of evening entertainment
There will also be an early morning breakfast on Friday morning, June 12. Many of the riders will leave early Friday morning to travel from St. Edward to the next overnight stop in Shelby.
