Five city street improvement projects in Newman Grove will advance to the bidding phase after action by the Newman Grove City Council last Thursday night, Jan. 9.
Total cost estimate for all of this street work is $1,150,000, according to City Engineer John Zwingman of Advance Consulting Engineering Services.
The council held public hearings on all five projects, but received no public testimony.
The concrete paving projects are:
• 2020-01, resurfacing of Seventh Street from Hale Avenue to Railroad Avenue, including the intersection at Bordwell Ave.
• 2020-02, resurfacing of Hale Avenue from Eighth Street to Ninth Street (no intersections).
• 2020-03, resurfacing of Logan Street to a point 970 feet west of Fourth Street (includes intersection of Fourth and Logan).
Cost estimate for these three projects together is $750,000
2020-04, resurfacing of Fourth Street from Railroad Ave. to Logan Street. Cost estimate for this project is $275,000.
2020-05, resurfacing of Sixth Street from Bordwell Ave. to Railroad Ave. Cost estimate for this project is $125,000.
